Training is necessary to gain an understanding of the basic technical prerequisites to enable the integration of immersive technologies on stage. This affects the areas of light, sound, video but also the integration of internet-based technologies on stage, mobile devices or near field communication.
Once a year, each D&T Lab sends two technicians to a summer academy, which we call PlayOn! Academy, for further education. The curriculum of this one-week intensive training programme will be developed by the University of York/Digital Creativity Labs in co-operation with the Academy Dortmund.
The training programme will be tailored to the needs of the respective production phases so that members of the D&T Labs return to their theatres with enhanced knowledge and skills to effectively support the work on the productions.
