Storytelling with Gaming Elements

New storytelling requires interactive narrative forms. This gives the viewer (spectator) unusual freedom (because they become part of the story), but requires new ways of working from the authors (playwrights).

The creative game sector already uses interactive storytelling in a very diverse and multi-layered way. PlayOn! wants to study these gaming narratives (the way of storytelling and not the gaming technology) and adapt them for theatre. That’s why the creative team of the first PlayOn! production includes a representative from the creative game sector.
