A time capsule crafted with the creative minds of young people. This unique installation remixes collected footage and interviews in a vibrant explosion of sight and sound. „A Guide to Now for Those in the Future“ explores the emotions, dreams, and hopes of young people from 2024 captured in fleeting moments, snap shots and passing interviews. Witness their hopes and struggles, woven into a tapestry of sights and sounds, an evocative exploration of human connection and being young in 2024, resonating from now into the future.

Consisting of a video installation made with recycled computer monitors and a sound installation made with recycled hood hairdryers, the project doesn’t have a linear narrative but instead collects stories around themes including love, friendship, home, school, jobs and the environment. The project also involved a two day ‘hack camp’ held at Explore York Library in association with German company TinkerTank. Seventeen young people took part, disassembling and remaking objects on the theme of the future.
