project manager, actorJoão Neca

My name is Joao Neca. I was born in 1988 in a small village with 300 inhabitants in the inner part of Portugal, next to Serra da Estrela, the highest mountain in Portugal.
There, I started playing theater at the age of 5 in an communitary theater collective, that united more than 50 amateur actors on stage.
Since then, with my friends, I founded a theater group in 2005 that still works regularly, I completed a master’s degree in Artistic Studies at the University of Coimbra and since 2013 I have been working in O Bando as an actor, director and responsible for communication, advertising and press relations.
Besides that, I worked on two radio broadcasters, I love listening to world music and playing football.
Now, my main concerns are about algorithms, journalism and democracy.
